She had a quiet strength, like her brother, Roger.
She was naturally generous, like her brother, Bob.
She laughed unabashedly, like her sister, Bev.
She was fun-loving, like her brother, Tim.
She was kind, like her father, Harry, and capable,
like her mother, Berniece.
Mary Lou was loyal, dedicated, and supportive,
and she always knew how to make you feel important and cared for.
And now, so many things are hard for us,
losing our beloved mother, sister, aunt, and best friend.
Our job is to go out into the world embodying and
enacting the beautiful qualities that Mary Lou did so effortlessly.
That’s what she would want for us, and that’s how we honor
all of the gifts she gave us just by being her.
